How come other countries used to allow guns,
and then said "actually we're not going to allow guns any more", and so everyone (almost) handed in their guns, and they have almost no fucking gun crime.
How come that?
How the fuck can't the US do it, seriously?
The answer is either:
1) There is something fundamentally different about America and Americans that makes them too fuckwitted to be able to get rid of guns and stop shooting each other, even when other groups of humans have found it relatively simple.
2) They actually can, but they're too fuckwitted to even try.
And their flag isn't even close to fucking symmetrical.

I don't know.
A great deal of it is gang related and it's only become worse with the porous southern border. With the sex trafficking and drugs, guns are used to protect territory. And, cheap guns from Yugoslavia and China tend to flow north across the border.
If you want crazy, look just south to Mexico.
