This is a normal post Meh
It just looks like a special effects fest with a large dusting of pop culture references to me.

This is a normal post I haven't seen this film but it seems so familiar I can't help but feel contempt for it.

This is a normal post Consigned to the same fate as The Dark Tower.
Far too much source material to fit into one movie. Fans of the Novel will hate it for being so brutally abridged, and the story will be so condensed that folk unfamiliar with the Novel will have fuck-all idea what is going on.
The trailer looks okay, but the film itself will do terribly, MARK MY WORDS.

This is a normal post the Novel
is worth a read. Excellent idea but the Author isn't really equipped to carry it through. He gets lost in a wankfest over the geeky minutiae of a very precise time period.

This is a normal post I can't be bothered to Google:
That's not a film aimed at adults, is it?

This is a normal post They've changed the tone since the last trailer I saw.
Don't see how many kids are going to understand all the pop culture references crowbared in and as an adult i'm bored stiff with the plucky poor kid against the evil mega corp story.

This is a normal post hollow out your book and put a shiny beer mat inside!
there is no way that this can be anywhere near as good as the book - the cost
to license all the brands in the book alone would be staggeringly expensive. I would love to see Monty Python's Holy Grail smooshed in at the end though.
