This is a link post So, farewell then, John Mahoney
He was from Manchester, you know

This is a normal post Manchester?
I'm pretty sure he was from Blackpool (Bispham to be precise).

Though being a Northerner it must have killed him inside to listen to Jane Leeves doing her godawful "Manchester" accent in Frasier. It's like listening to nails on a blackboard for a Mancunian like me.

And I love this cartoon

This is a normal post Tough call
At their best, they were both incredible. The one with Niles and Daphne at the dance was perfection.

This is a normal post Cheers was quality: witty, juvenile and set in a bar
But Frasier had so much depth for what was really just us laughing at a snob. The Niles ironing silent sketch was perfect. Anyone looking to produce UK comedy should watch the box set. That us how you do it, with class.

RIP John Mahoney
