Can anyone explain this new fad of using the present continuous instead of the present simple to me.
It seems to have begun on those annoying interior design shows.
I really don't get it. 'I'm loving the irony', will you stop loving the irony in 10 minutes time? If you see this video tomorrow, will you hate the irony? I don't see what's temporary about your love of the irony?

it is indeed temporary
next time i see it, i will already have seen it, and it will be less loveable as it become more seen and therefore more repetitive

It probably has to do with McDonalds and the "I'm lovin' it" slogan. Now that is temporary.
