OK, I'll bite.
'PC Varden and PS Freeman attended a house in Carisbrook Road on the morning of January 2 to execute an arrest warrant... PS Freeman, 51, replied: “In 26 years I have never shown a warrant to someone I have arrested.”'
Under certain circumstances, such as if the fuzz turn up at your home in order to execute an arrest warrant, I hardly think it's unreasonable to ask for fuzz to produce that warrant. But I'm nuts.

I tend to think if a uniformed policeman turns up
and says 'we have reason to believe J Alfred Prufrock is on these premises, drinking coffee and talking of Micheal Angelo, we have a warrant for his arrest, let us in' you get the fuck out the way.
One of the reasons a police officer can enter a home without permission is explicitly to enforce an arrest warrant. PACE = and was always possible prior to this. THe arrest warrant and actually waving it is ludicrous.
