i'm finding out finger style is really fucking hard
when you get really into it.
Try tapping out a 4/4 beat with your right thumb and then playing a different rhythm with your other fingers on that hand. Your thumb keeps wanting to join in with them, rather than keep that 4/4/ beat. It's driving me nuts.
