I read
all the small print in the terms and conditions on Channel Four's "4 Laughs" page. And basically, yeah - if you upload something to their site and they like it, they get to own it.

I wonder how many people don't read the small print? It's deceitful. You don't know what you can lose 'til you lose it. That shouldn't stand.
