He didn't write a book, have a blog, or raise money for charity, or seek any publicity, it was just something he felt like doing and did

yeah, he had some photos. Was an odd bloke, a good programmer
had some big plan to build retirement homes in Turkey for english people, that lost him a bit of money, based on the assumption, well-off the mark in hindsight, that Turkey would join the EU at some point. It seemed a bit more likely in 2002, I guess.
