After years and years of iPods, iPhones, iPads and more recently Macs doing exactly the same thing, airpods seem an odd target for this.
Also I look on airpods as a quick marker of the gullible. If you're going to be spending £140 on disposable earphones, then maybe you should have a word with yourself.

I see what you mean but...
of all of them airpods are the only ones you have to cut open in a really messy dangerous way just to get to their electronics
