We had a cat that used to visit. It would come into the house and steal food from the counter tops.
Until of course I got the watering cans and hose out and sprayed it every time it visited.
Then it stopped.
There was another cat that used to visit and not steal food. That one was welcome and still calls, sometimes stays over.

Try leaving it be, or as someone else suggests, a use a hose if you must, but if you're throwing stones at a dumb animal, you deserve to have your eyes scratched out.
