you shouldn't admit this or that. Is an example of how shit the legal system is and how human nature itself is utter shit, because you are supposed to deny the truth. And we're all supposed to say look at that lawyer and think he's an idiot for admitting the truth and we're all supposed to ridicule him for being so stupid.

It's not the lawyer's job to announce whether he's innocent or guilty. It's down to the court to decide innocence or guilt. The lawyer's job is to advocate for the best possible outcome for his client. He's pretty clearly failing to do that, unless he's going for some sort of incompetence-based mistrial ruling.
