take it out of its natural environment and into yours
use it as a sawhorse to intimidate it
take it apart slowly till you find that 'easily serviceable' component
fix the problem
put it back together
watch it run, possibly slightly more noisily
feel that you have conquered in the eternal battle of man vs machine
shell out for a new one when you get fed up of the noise or it falls to bits three days later
