The assumption isn't that all trans women are sex pests
But that sex pests will take advantage of mixed-sex spaces to abuse women. That seems like a reasonable assumption to me.

Its kind of that, but not quite.
It’s not so much “there are genuine trans people and there are also predators and it’s tricky to tell them apart”: it’s “what every trans woman has in common is that they are male. Male people pose a statistical risk to female people”
So the point isn’t that evil bigots want to exclude trans women from women’s spaces because they’re trans - it’s that many female people maintain that excluding male people from female spaces is a legitimate act of exclusion, and that accommodating male people’s beliefs about themselves is not and should not be their obligation

There is currently
a male with a GRC, in a women's prison, who was convicted of sex crimes against women, and who has not had reassignment surgery, and they have already sexually assaulted other women there.
