A collection of functional holes on the hard lump that stick out the top of the entity -
with a matrix of springy meat to pull it into complex formations that signal data to other organisms of your kind, sometimes by squirting air through some tubes, but more often by bouncing electromagnetic waves off the porous bag it's all contained in.
What's weird about that?
