Seriously, though, If bands like The Smashing Pumpkins and Rage Against the Machine aren't okay to listen to beyond 16-ish, what acts would you suggest as being more age appropriate for adult listeners?

I'm reconsidering my entire back catalogue after discovering that I'm far too old for The Smashing Pumpkins.
I suppose that The Beastie Boys and The Wutang Gang are right out the window now, too. The hardest thing about growing old is leaving your youth behind :'(
