This is a normal post I thought it was only the PM that could request a snap election?
Considering the lead in the polls that Labour currently has, I really really don't see Liz doing that, as she'd be effectively handing parliament to Starmer.
Unless, of course, she decided that she's completely out of her depth and wanted to resign. But then we'd end up with Rishi. So, still no GE. And I don't think she's bright enough to make an accurate assessment of her own ability.

If the objective of the petition is just to make a point, then fair play I suppose.

We'll probably be at war with Russia, Pakistan and China well before the planned GE is called anyway, judging by how things are going in Ukraine, so is suspect any talk of an election is largely academic.

This is a normal post The Conservative Party membership knew that imminent war was possible, and still decided that Truss was the best person for the job.
Actually I don't know who would be worse in that situation - her or Johnson.

This is a normal post VoNC with Tory support is a possibility.

This is a normal post Still wouldn't trigger a GE, though.
I think a VoNC is a possibility, but not until we've received the verdict from the OBR, and even then I think the Tories would be reluctant to vote Liz out. Boris was effectively a VoNC in all but name, voting a second PM out in the same term would be far more damaging to the party's reputation than simply allowing the term to run its course.
If things go south after November, Liz is either going to resign, have some sort of terrible accident, or see out the remaining two years.
Not accounting for possible WW3 on the horizon, I suspect we'll end up with two years of Liz.

This is a normal post No confidence in the government, not the PM
If they lose the former and can’t form a new government then it’s GE time as far as I know.

This is a normal post It's hardly the right time for change, and the people of this country would prefer the government just get on with the job
