This describing a man who bankrupted a casino, which is supposedly impossible, and is worth less today than he would be if he had just put the money his dad gave him into a savings account.

As to schadenfreude, surely shame only attaches when the victim is someone who doesn't actually deserve it?

Nevertheless, don't most people feel less bad if they laugh at someone who they think is getting what they deserve? YBF vs. Dashcams, that sort of thing.
