If he had reason to believe his sidearm had been taken (suspect's hands not visible after contact), it's considered reasonable force.
For all he knew in the moment, this thug (and he is a verifyable thug) had further plans to do harm.

Non-confrontationally at first.
Communicate verbally my desire to detain/arrest the suspects. If they respond with violence, respond appropriately while minimising risk to the public. Appropriate responses would not include attempting to murder a defenceless person, even if they really annoyed me, my colleagues, or Geebeebies.
Put your mother in the place of the person getting their head kicked in and tell me why she deserved it.

The videos show no attempt at communication before they attempted to solve a non-violent problem with violence
before getting their arses handed to them by superior fighters. On the contrary, the video shows the police gang creeping up on the assailants with their backs turned.

Are there photos of a brainscan of the assailant who the policeman tried to klill? Being kicked in the head often results in life changing injuries that may not look as gruesome as a swollen face.

In what way did the arrival of the violent police thugs improve the situation?
The civilian in blue appears to go stiff as a board with both hands by his sides as soon as he hits the floor, my guess is he's concussed before the multiple kicks to the head.
ETA: The suggestion that kicking someone's head in is ever justified kind of confirms that you are a thug, or at least a thug apologist.

They were attempting to detain two violent suspects from two other incidents.
The first incident is a fight between passengers from Qatar Airways flight QR023, which arrived at 7.20pm. The fight may have taken place during the flight or afterwards in the T2 baggage hall - unclear atm.
The second incident is further violence involving members of the public in T2 Starbucks at approximately 8.22pm.
Police then locate the suspect and move to detain them. This is prefectly normal in an airport, they do not "ask nicely".
Thugs then kick off and attack all three officers with what can only be described as "feral rage".
Not that you care for logic or reason - you've shown us time and again that you simp for criminality.

Armed Police are trained to use their feet - they cannot risk losing their gun or tazer.
Not only did the guy's arm and hand land on the officer's side-arm, they then became obscured - others have suggsted a nearby dropped radio may have looked like a gun in the heat of the moment. Either way, it's entirely justified.
Your ignorance is astounding. Anyway, you carry on - I can't use reason with someone who did not use reason in the first place.
