This is a normal post I suspect that £30k to Huw Edwards isn't quite the same as £30k to us plebs.
His base salary was £480k last year and I don't suspect he was living from payslip to payslip. It would be the equivalent of somebody on an average income paying somebody about three to four grand.

I don't really feel that anybody calling him a nonce before this development should feel particularly vindicated. It still reeks of homophobia. Fair play to anyone that wants to call him a nonce now, though.

To me, a forty year old going out with a seventeen year old is 100% nonce. Is he a paedophile? Not in the eyes of the law, no, so I’d be very careful about calling him one. However as far as I’m concerned, if he’ll fuck a seventeen year old, he’d be only too happy to fuck a fifteen year old. Sexual attraction isn’t based on someone’s date of birth, it’s based on how they look and act. If you like them very young you’re a nonce, if you like them so young they’re underage, you’re a paedophile. Nonces are all too often paedophiles.

Not that it in any way makes it okay, but categorising somebody who likes fucking underage adolescents in the same category as somebody who likes fucking literal infants feels wrong to me. They're both bad, but one is clearly much, much worse.
I'd argue that an adult who has a penchant for adolescents isn't necessarily a psychopath, an adult who has a penchant for toddlers almost certainly is - you'd have to be, surely.

Just as some rapists are worse than other rapists. Some 15 year olds are, if you’ll excuse the idiom, ripe for plucking, some aren’t. In this country a line has been drawn at 16. Technically you’re wrong, as it is the law that imposes the technicalities.

This is a normal post Hmmm, even on his absurd salary for reading an autocue, 30k is still a lot of dosh.
I might tend to agree if it was only 3k, but it was ten times that. Even a millionaire would consider 30k a major outgoing, 3k not so much. As rich as he is, that’d be one fancy holiday for two. Whereas luxury holidays for two on a 3k budget? Good luck with that.
As for the homophobia, bullshit, total bullshit. The fact it was a boy is neither here or there. Dutch volleyball nonce’s entirely justified vilification proves that, Paula Radcliffe aside.
