This is a normal post It's fun to diminish Skum's role but not entirely accurate.
It's clear from his discussions with Tim Dodd that he's competent when discussing rocket design and understands what his rockets actually do in terms of the engineering and such. Much is made of the stupid demands he makes of his design teams (e.g. 'make it pointy'), but von Braun also designed some silly rockets in his time.

And, you know, he had actual slaves who he literally worked to death.
