
but binary is binary no? if something does not fit in to "1" or "0" then you can not describe that data set as binary. Regardless of whether you think the outliers "don't count" because they may or may not be in significant numbers.

Should have qualified that as "for all practical purposes".
To reduce it to an absurd level: If there's one outlier in seven billion, and they don't make it to their first birthday, then does it make sense to include them in a conversation about toilet signage?
My point being that he doesn't give enough information to make an informed judgement on the subject either way.
