I made this!
Found a potter to design what I believe to be the world's first spherical egg cup, but unfortunately the egg began to stink (as it's been part boiled), so I've also found a spherical egg preservation expert.

you can soften a normal egg shell in vinegar. I expect you can make them round like that.
