Gremlins
E.T.
The Goonies
Flight of the Navigator

The Empire Strikes Back
Short Circuit
Batman
Back to the Future
Top Gun

Terminator
Die Hard
Ghostbusters
The Karate Kid
The Shining
and those are only the ones off the top of my head.
Granted, they might not all be Lawrence of Arabia or The Godfather Part 2, but god damn they're all fantastic films in their own rights.
I'd agree that the '70s produced a greater number of technically better films than the '80s if we're holding film to the standards to which films are typically held (writing, direction, etc), but there's just something about the whole feel of '80s blockbusters that just strikes a chord with me.

The Karate tournament montage to Joe Esposito's 'You're the Best'. Is arguably the greatest montage in cinematic history.
Even watching it now, it makes me feel as if I could take on a full-grown adult and win.
Criminal that I forgot to put The Lost Boys in that list, too. Another banging soundtrack as well.
