Then again I am too young to remeber PIL. However, yes, the sex pistols started the whole punk revolution, blah etc...
Someone needed to, and the idea only came from Mclaren when there were plenty of garage bands, and people playing in there bedroom and such. I prefer PIL because it is pure John Lydon. I have Never Mind The Bollocks, but only like the sum of 1 song on it. I would rather get the Uk Subs on and the like for pure spit, grime and poorly tuned instruments.
So there.

Stiff Little Fingers in '79 but couldn't go.
Went to see AC/DC instead and that was the end of Punk for me!

but I can see the appeal.
A friend of mine is very similar. He showed me his ticket stubs once, from the days you used to get them back. I noticed he had seem the New York Dolls, he replied 'I have seen the New York Dolls?'. You wouldnt think it looking at him now he spent most his time off his tits on acid.

I was in the audience of the Tube (if you can remember that).
The only band based on a pair of high heels!

Was this before or after Tommy?
I kinda remember the Tube. My mum sometimes let me stay up late if one of my milk teeth was playing me up.

it was Hawkwind who started the whole punk revolution, and new romantics and hip hop.
