This is a link post The Axolotl Song I made this!
The Axolotl is the luckiest animal in all of Mexico, for he exhibits a property called neoteny, meaning that he reaches sexual maturity without undergoing metamorphosis. The axolotl can be induced to metamorphose by drinking salamander goo. Isn't that BRILLIANT? We just HAD to write a song about it.

I was playing Blood Bowl on my pc and noticed one of my skinks had been assigned the name Hotuatabotl, which made me glee just a little bit.

If you want them to metamorphose then the best way is to add very small amounts of iodine to the tank water and lower the water level over a period of several weeks.
