Pity that Johnny was a religious man, and only that and June rescued him from the oblivion of depression, drugs and alcohol
I may reject religion personally, but what others want to believe in is their choice. As long as they aren't hurting anyone else with their beliefs.
Oh, and that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live forever!

Yeah there's quite a lot of crosses etc
which would normally annoy me if people we're sticking it in to advertise their own personal beliefs but given the nature of the song and context of Johnny Cash I think it actually adds to the video.
