As someone who's had quite a bit of media training
I think this is just Ben's journalistic bent failing him. He's used to changing tack often and interrupting in interviews as a tool to unsettle a "guest".
In this interview, he hasn't factored in the reasonable need to allow more time for replies, due to the slower speaking speed of the interviewee. And therefore comes across as a jerk.
Well, that and the idiot questions he's asking.
And the fact that the interviewee is talking utter sense and actually has a brain better than his.
What a tit.
