This is a normal post a compressor and limiter will do the trick
the LFO on the ring modulator for the dalek effect I assume is too late to correct as it was recorded live with the effect. What software did you use?

This is a normal post Not recorded live with the effect
I added the effect this morning in Audacity using Killering plug-in on it's lowest settings. Then normaized the Dalek bits - which is the bit which seems to be causing the main problem. Changing the normalizing setting seems to be helping but I can't turn the ring modulation down any lower = everything is on the lowest setting.

if you can export them from audacity as MP3s I'll give it a whirl for you

This is a normal post Kind of you to offer
but I'll have a play about with the suggestions so far.

I mostly just record it so I can send the other writers copies of their sketches as performed. This was an excuse to see if I could learn anything about audio editing and adding sound effects etc.
