I had a Staffy that used to do exactly the same thing if you rubbed his fur the wrong way or kept your hand on his head for too long.
Used to scare the shite out of people who did'nt know he was a great big softy because his eyes used to glaze over until he looked like a rabid Gator.
Good times....

Me and my son discussed getting a staff or a rottie
but we found chevy in Kildare, staffs are a class dog, a smile bigger than most humans
