I have to confess
I moved into my house about 17 years ago, and the first thing I noticed was one of the balusters on the stairs was upside down. It was very irritating. And still is.

That would have been deliberate
Like the guy mentioned earlier, artists liked to leave a flaw in their work to demonstrate their product will never be as perfect as God's. A good example is in Byron's personal chapel.
