My boy simultaneously pissed and shit on me within seconds of me holding him for the first time.

Fatherly advice...
When it all gets too hard (with the crying and lack of sleep etc), it's sometimes easy to think that it will be like that forever. But they do get older and easier to manage, and you will settle down into a routine that works.

Also look out for the best 'early' period - when they are old enough to be left alone (i.e. not held constantly), but not old enough to crawl...

I'm a patient sort of a chap, I just keep thinking how frustrating it must be to be a baby and totally unable to say what's going on with all these new weird sensations they get on a daily basis :-)
