I'm sure if you had a cockroach infestation in a cupboard in your kitchen
you wouldn't hand pick them out and place them outside or tell the exterminators to empathize

I would underline unnecessary. I have no issues with killing stuff as humanely as possible for food or territory. Minor annoyance, a whim, or because the Internet wants to see just isn't a good enough reason for me thats all.
Like i said I'm not trying to moralise or persuade here. Just saying if i found this video offensive it wouldn't be hypocritical.
*edit* likewise - you make a good point and it is actually something I personally do think about and would agonise over. I'm sure many would think it pretty daft.
