
It doesn't work, psychologically. It's like having an ideal forced down your throat, even if it's for a good cause.
It is essentially fascism.

protesting is about raising awareness of an issue. The only thing its forcing you to do is to listen to an opinion. In a democracy politicians are slaves to public opinion, so if a protest gets enough support it can actually (deep breath ... dramatic pause) ... make a difference.
Also, saying "you're a fascist" is somewhat like the "yeah, well you know who else did that... THE NAZIS" argument.

but neithers pious protests... a BM/RAF approach is far more effective I think, and if against senior bankers would be as popular as the original German group.
