Well, the reporting of it was - I struggled to find anyone reporting it in context at all./
Mr Maude had been trying to warn against a mad rush to the pumps just as garages in London were starting to ration supplies. He said: “As and when it makes sense, a bit of extra fuel in a jerry can is a sensible precaution to take.”
He did not say it in the context reported at all.
