The first best known for sharing a name with a more famous TV astronomer and for playing Hannibal Lector until they found a much better one. And the second for... probably there's something. Coincidentally both have been consistently overlooked for work and awards south of the border...

You will see that Cox played the best Lector. Hopkins plays it like a panto.

If you look closely
You will see that both critically and commercially Silence is one of the most successful films in history. It's an overused word but Hopkins' knighthood/Oscar/BAFTA/everything-else-winning performance was iconic. You can probably quote at least three of his lines. And if Plaid Cymru got him on board, it would be a shitload more impressive and effective than Brian fucking Cox.

Cummings is a Thespian
And not a bad one at that. He played Saturninus (sp?) in the film adaption of Titus, which is worth a watch just for his hamminess.
