This is a normal post Personally I think it'll go the way of a lot of these projects.
People will port the usual emulators to it and that'll be about it.

This is a normal post android isn't going to disappear though,
it will probably be more about the homebrew scene in the first installment, but if that's a success it could pave the way for a next generation one using a Project Denver chip.

$2.6M now...

This is a normal post I've got one of these and I love it, but it's not going to change the world.

If it was a Linux console rather than Android I could get behind it.
I'ld love to be proved wrong as I need to build a new media centre PC and this could save me a job.

This is a normal post Well the lack of a tv tuner is a bit of a downer in that regards though.

This is a normal post now there's a decent idea
proper gap in the market still, but then again, a cheap PC is so much more versatile

This is a normal post The only reason the Xbox broke Sony's strangle hold on the console market is because right from the off they were paying to dollar to get exclusives for themselves and persuading other publishers to not give exclusives to Sony.
to top

The only reason the Wii got in there at all is because it's one big gimmick that appeals to non-gamers (i.e. parents).

So how is the Ouya going to muscle it's way in?

It doesn't have the backing or a killer gimmick... It's on an open source platform - that's it, that's it's "thing". Whoop-de-doo. So why don't PC gamers all migrate to Linux? Oh yeah, that's right, because it doesn't have a huge catalogue of games.

The MAIN reason sony, microsoft and even nintendo wont give a shit is because in essence it will be in direct competition with, not the consoles themselves, but Xbox marketplace, ps3 store, wiiware and Steam.

Doesn't stand a chance.

You're right. It has died a death.
