I dunno
there's a difference between other generations where clothing was a bit crazy and funny-looking, and this particular example of a pair of trousers that make it impossible to even walk normally. I'm with the dad on this one. Nothing wrong with wearing skinny jeans if that's the look you want, but at least make sure you can perform basic functions like walking and sitting in them!

Balls. I remember getting *exactly* the same treatment of my dad for a pair of black bondage/goth trousers when I was in my teens.
...that my father's observations were utterly correct is irrelevant.

Ha ha! Fair enough!
I think the most impractical clothing I ever had was ridiculously baggy jeans that went with the whole BMX/dirt jumping thing. The inside of the left leg was shredded on the chain-wheel and nearly caused several accidents. That said, being a bit shredded and ingrained with bike oil/grease was part of 'the look'!
