something that's obvious: the people in Matt cartoons - presumably the sorts to which Telegraph readers are supposed to relate - are invariably balding pipe-smokers and women in tweed, knee-length skirts.
Such people are, in reality, all reaching the end of their lives. Does this mean that the Telegraph will lose almost all its circulation in the next 10 years or so? How many people under 40 even read other people's copies?
