In seriousness, I suspect sleight of hand (fnar): when it is being removed the nail appears to flex where it passes through his hand. I've been to the tool shed and had a look at my nails, they don't do this.

in that it was the collection of pixels on my screen that allowed me to view the video!
Could be wrong, its probably easier to just do this than it is to fake.
