This is a normal post I assume that fucked up link was meant to point to HIGNFY?
And that is a straw man progression that I will have no part of sir.

[edit]
And you don't see the hyprocasy in this?
"Earlier this year, Mr Correa won two separate multi-million dollar lawsuits against journalists for libel.

El Universo newspaper was fined $40m (£25m) and its owners given a three-year jail term.

In a separate lawsuit, two investigative journalists were fined $10m (£6.3m) for discrediting Mr Correa's good name in a book detailing government contracts that benefited the president's older brother.

Following international pressure, Mr Correa pardoned the journalists and the newspaper."

It's not as bad as Galloway praising Saddam I grant you but it still smells

This is a normal post it's not a straw man progression, just a similar example of the misuse of charge of hypocrisy
I probably should point out to you again that his stated reason for applying for asylum is to escape possible extradition to the US from sweden (whether you think his fears are valid or not is another debate). He is not going to ecuador for a social call, to demonstrate his support for correas leadership, or because he likes empadas. he is a fugitive and one country , ecuador, made him an offer of asylum. I find the charge of hypocrisy exceedingly weak under those circumstances, and on about the same level as Mench accusing people who buy coffee and protest about the banks of hypocrisy.

This is a normal post and him giving him a nice cosy interview on Russia Today is mearly by the by?
and I believe it is a straw man as you just substituted my example for another that only has a passing resemblance but backs up your view without even trying to argue the point.

This is a normal post Fair enough
So what was the point?

Obama said he would shut down G.Bay and didn't so he's a hypocrite.

Assange claims to fight for freedom of information but relies on help from an state that fines and imprisons the press for being mean to the president.

This is a normal post he's going there to save his own skin not as a show of support for the president,
if anyone's a hypocrite it's Mr Carrea.

The point is that being accused of hypocrisy is the least of his worries at the moment, when he's wanted by a regime that uses torture on dissidents.

This is a normal post He also had Carrea on his chat show on Russia Today while back.
And Assange has given him a PR boon just before the elections.

This is a normal post Russia Today is a really bizarre channel.
Honestly though I really don't know what I'd do if I were in his situation. Chances are it's game over for him no matter what he does from now on.
