
Tis a great martial art, did it years ago and wish I never gave it up. Now I creak when I sit down, I think it might be too late to take it up again :o(

was the fittest I'd been in my life when I was doing taekwon... was shite at it but was fun. But my knees would seriously complain if I did it now

I had a 70 year old guy teaching me aikido once upon a time.
He was an old guy, stiff and a bit slow, but he could still take a fall like the best of em.
I'll bet if you visit a physio they will give you simple leg exercises that stop the squeaking.
Inactivity is the most damaging thing you can do.

He is concentrating some of his thesis on working on geriatrics, he told me this morning that with a proper programme you can get an 80 year old to put on muscle mass.
