Alternate Reality Gaming - you play an online game but there are real world parts to it e.g you call a telephone number, visit a location, pick up a package etc

I think Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) did a thing like this a couple of years ago. But I didn't know it had a name or was a genre.
