I think I still have that book up in the attic, must check!
The end is scary, but the guy who put it up on the site has made the error of putting every page under the last, like a column, ruining the effect of the final double-spread (grandmother on left side, cat on right).

I vaguely remember watching the feature length The 9 lives of Garfield when I was a kid. It must have been very loosely based on the book, cos I don't remember any paranormal homicidal lives...
