Very beautiful, especially seeing Spock so emotional. I spent many years living in a remote town on the Ukrainian border, it always puzzled me why the old timers had a smattering of German, but no English. Now I guess it was from dealing with the Yiddish speaking Jews before they all got sent to Poland in WwW2.

Don't know numbers but there were those who served alongside the Germans
Son of one told me about his father ending up in Berlin working on a flak emplacement.
