by how much press coverage this cunt shit soap opera is getting. And they say the Murdoch press is the most influential media force in this country. Cat piss. The BBC PR department have got this kebab vomit in every fucking paper and on every tv news show for about four days continuously now.

Every newspaper except the Guardian (and possibly the Mirror) fucking hate the BBC and take any opportunity to knock it (usually with some good reason).
They don't have to write about EastEnders at all, except that it's an incredibly easy win for them: they can splash across multiple pages, with little actual prose; instead using big pictures, box-outs, betting odds on the murderer, etc. and it will still get read by the unfathomably large number of people who watch this utterly shit television programme. Lazy and cynical hack twattery.

the BBC set the news agenda like no one else, and the fact that they are saturating much of their news and entertainment coverage with Eastenders stories means that their lead is followed. They cynically do this with a lot of their other light entertainment output. The new casting of a Doctor Who becomes front page national news? Check. Someone spits their dummy out on Bake Off? Someone can't dance very well on Strictly? This is not newsworthy, but the BBC makes it so. This isn't public service broadcasting, it's shameless self promotion.
