you forgot to muliply by 100 to get a percentage
391000 / 16000000 = $0.024 return on every $1 spent. Which is a 2.4% return on their investment.
100% return means you get back everytihng you spent. 102.4% return is the same as a 2.4% profit.

It's not a return, it's a loss, shirley?
and it's not an investment it's a cost.
So their legal fees cost £16m, but they only managed to recoup 2.5% of that amount in damages, losing 97.6%.
A lot of the big companies have in house legal teams too, so I imagine some lawyers are in trrrruuuuubbbllle...
