Lies Your Parents Told You II
All parents lie to their kids. How did your parents lie to you. Perhaps you yourself are a parent and lie to your children, tell us about that too.

My Mum told
me that if someone made fun of me at school I should just ignore them and eventually they'd go away. This is exactly the kind of attitude that has led to the current situation with North Korea.

This doesn't make sense.
North Korea haven't just ignored them. They've built a massive army and nuclear arsenal.

It still doesn't make sense.
There have been those 11 years of gradually increasing sanctions.

Oh, I thought it was a Stewart Lee quote
You know, how he does his material, you've seen them, the Stewart Lee routines
Where he puts pauses
in the middle of sentences
in order to heighten
the comedic
effect.
(Long pause)
The
comedic
effect, everybody.
(20 second silence)
Single sentence harking back to an anecdote from one hour ago.
Pretend annoyance that the laughter wasn't quick or loud enough.
"Explanation" that that was a callback, and half of the audience are too asleep to realise it.
The latter then dragged out for the next 20 minutes in order to fill some time up.

Bill Hicks was an unfunny wanker with a terrible haircut.
The only time he made me laugh was when I heard he was dead.
