Worst teacher doused
When I was at Juniors aged 10 or so we would have a school open day, with any number of bizarre stalls for parents and friends to enjoy. All for charity with crockery smashing the most popular. Our stall was to do with throwing water laden sponges at hapless schoolboys and my solitary job was standing indoors by the tap with hose connected and to open this whenever the bucket needed filling. A packed and busy day outside - lonely and dull for me with the occasional instruction from Bruce to open or close the tap. An hour into this, one of the school toughs got my attention through the window and said "When I tell you, open up the tap as full as it will go". Bored with the tedium and not wanting to disappoint what could be a valuable new friend I agreed and waited. "OK - NOW". On went the tap and a womans screech rent the air. The school tough was gone but now Bruce wanted answers. He was idly pointing the hose at Mrs Russell, a teacher, when on went the water and so inadvertently gave her a soaking. High jinks and I got a drubbing for it later.
