This is a question Amazing Projects

We here at B3ta love it when a plan comes together. Tell us about incredible projects and stuff you've built by your own hand. Go on, gloat away.

Thanks to A Vagabond for the suggestion

When I read the theme this week
I thought I'd post up pictures of the compost bin I made one afternoon out of pallets with a lovely sliding hatch at the front to get the compost out.

But after seeing all the other projects on here I feel slighly less proud. :(

Oh, go on.
I was thinking of making one of these. Sometimes the simplest of things have the most ingenious designs.

It certainly couldn't attract as much derision on here as the side of the shed I made :-)

yeah like that took some effort

QOTW seems to be losing it's way here
Far too many people attacking comments rather than being a friendly online community providing a bit of wit.

Couldn't have put it better myself!
I read through an old QotW best of the other day - some of the stories were obviously bullshit, but there were far fewer comments in general and no "Cool story bro" type stuff... much nicer.

Here is my shonky bin

The front right hand side planks were splitting so they are a bit cobbled together and as for the wood treatment I was literaly scraping the bottom of the tin (I found lurking in the shed). It now has another coat but I don't have a photo

I could do with one of them in my garden!
*steals your design*

EDIT: *and enclickens your post*

word of warning
Taking pallets apart is tricky they use hooked nails to prevent piky bastards like me building things out of them. Take it slow and have more pallets than you need to make the build ;)

I shall bear that in mind, cheers :)

Nice one.
Considering how they're used, it looks fine to me. Good job of repurposing some worn out tech. I know of a few wrecking yards where the things just stack up and weather into uselessness, so this is a big plus in my book.
