The "tail" should NOT be against the wall. Anyone who thinks different should be fed to the lions, then reassembled and hung.
The Simpsons makes reference to this. The child welfare inspectors come round and find one of the main signs of squalor to be "toilet roll hung in improper overhand fashion".
